This charming rural apartment sits on Carrer La Font in Borredà, in the heart of the Berguedà, at the gateway to the Catalan Pyrenees. A whole, independent place, made for switching off properly.
The style is rustic and modern at once, the signature of all our properties: stone, wood and handcrafted details alongside the comforts you would expect today. It is a ground floor, though the apartment sits slightly below street level: you reach it down five steps inside the entrance hall itself. Once inside, everything is on one level.
The hall opens onto a single bright space where the living room, dining area and kitchen flow into one.
A decorative fireplace anchors the living room, with the television above it, creating that warm mountain-evening feel. The sofa converts into a double bed, and the display cabinet, the bookshelves and the local landscape prints round off a corner that invites you to stay put.
The chill out area, everyone's favourite corner
One of the most special spaces in the apartment is the raised area with a chill out mattress. A corner to stretch out with a book, take a nap, or simply do nothing at all. Children love it.
Next to it, board games and books to fill rainy afternoons or long hours after lunch. It is the kind of space that never makes it onto an amenities checklist, yet ends up being what people remember most about a stay.
The bedroom, separated from the living room by a folding wooden door, holds the double bed with a chest at its foot, its own television and heating and cooling by heat pump. Its window faces outside, with views to wake up to slowly. The full bathroom with shower keeps the same spirit: a natural stone basin, practical and welcoming.

Carrer de la Font
Cal Barraqué stands at number 26 of Carrer de la Font, one of the old streets of Borredà and listed as an urban ensemble in the Architectural Heritage Inventory of Catalonia. The street took shape in the second half of the 18th century, when the village was at its demographic and economic peak thanks to the wool carders' and weavers' guilds.
These are artisans' houses: plain, ground floor plus two storeys, built of irregular stone laid in courses, along a winding street on a slope behind the church. Some façades still carry the date 1788 carved into them, and others the wrought ironwork joined with clamps rather than welds, dating from around 1761.
