Cal Barraqué de Dalt, three floors to be together
Cal Barraqué de Dalt is a triplex on Carrer de la Font in Borredà, in the Berguedà, at the gateway to the Catalan Pyrenees. It takes up all three floors of a stone house in the old village and is rented whole, with its own street-level entrance. It is designed for groups of friends and large families who want to spend a few days together while everyone still has their own space.
The style is the same as in all our properties: wooden beams, whitewashed walls, antique furniture and handcrafted lamps made from branches and tree trunks, together with today's comforts. Every room has air conditioning with a heat pump, which cools in summer and heats in winter.
In the same building, with a separate entrance, is the Cal Barraqué de Baix apartment, designed for couples.
Ground floor: kitchen, dining area and wood-burning stove
From the street you step straight into the ground floor, the daytime living space. The kitchen is fully equipped and opens onto a dining area with a long wooden table that can be extended when more room is needed.
Beyond it, the lounge area gathers around a wood-burning stove glazed at the front and sides, with the television beside it. This is where everyone ends up in the evening.
Because the street slopes, the back of the house sits higher up: from the ground-floor balcony you look out over the valley and the mountains around Borredà. This floor also has a toilet with a stone washbasin, without a shower.
First floor: two double bedrooms
The stairs lead up to the first floor, with a small sitting area and a reading corner. Here are the two double bedrooms, each with its own television and air-conditioning unit.
Bedroom 1 has a double bed with bedside tables and an antique chest. Bedroom 2 has a 2 × 2 metre king-size bed, the kind you appreciate after a day in the mountains.
The bathroom on this floor has a shower, a stone washbasin and a heated towel rail.
The attic floor: two bedrooms with double bunk beds
The second floor is an attic with very high ceilings and exposed wooden beams. It is reached by a steeper staircase than the one below. It has its own sitting area and two bedrooms closed off by wooden swing doors.
Each bedroom has a double bunk bed, with a double bed on top and another below, a television and a chest with blankets and towels. Bedroom 2 also has a sofa bed. From the window of bedroom 1 you can see the mountains.
The attic bathroom has a microcement shower, a stone washbasin and a heated towel rail.

Carrer de la Font
Cal Barraqué stands at number 26 of Carrer de la Font, one of the old streets of Borredà and listed as an urban ensemble in the Architectural Heritage Inventory of Catalonia. The street took shape in the second half of the 18th century, when the village was at its demographic and economic peak thanks to the wool carders' and weavers' guilds.
These are artisans' houses: plain, ground floor plus two storeys, built of irregular stone laid in courses, along a winding street on a slope behind the church. Some façades still carry the date 1788 carved into them, and others the wrought ironwork joined with clamps rather than welds, dating from around 1761.

What beds does the triplex have?

How is the space laid out?
Over three floors. The ground floor has the kitchen, the dining area, the lounge with the wood-burning stove, the balcony and a toilet. How is the triplex heated in winter?

How many bathrooms are there?
Three: a bathroom with a shower on the first floor, another with a microcement shower in the attic and a toilet without a shower on the ground floor.
What does the kitchen include?
A fridge, oven, ceramic hob, microwave, dishwasher, Italian coffee maker, kettle, toaster, blender and juicer, plus pots, frying pans, paella pans, crockery, cutlery and table linen. The dining table is extendable.
Is there parking?
There is no private parking, but around 30 metres down the street there are free spaces on the street itself and it is usually easy to park. Bear in mind that Carrer de la Font is narrow: cars can get through, but only small vehicles.
Are pets allowed?
Yes, pets are welcome at no extra cost.
Is it accessible for people with reduced mobility?
